Every now and then, the coast quietly teaches us something worth carrying home.

Sunshine, sea salt, the sound of waves... and a lighthouse standing watch over it all.

Somehow, it just feels right.

Standing sturdy and tall against the horizon, lighthouses have become one of the coast's most beloved landmarks. They offer breathtaking views, tell stories of generations past, and quietly symbolize strength, hope, and endurance. We admire their beauty, photograph their silhouettes, and climb their winding staircases. Yet most of us rarely stop to consider why they're standing exactly where they are or what makes them so comforting to see in the first place.

Long before satellites and GPS guided ships across the sea, mariners relied on these seaside beacons to safely navigate the coast. Nothing about them was accidental. From their location and height to their unique flash patterns, every detail was carefully designed to guide sailors through hidden reefs, rocky shorelines, shifting sandbars, dangerous currents, and narrow harbor entrances—places where one wrong turn could end in disaster. Their steady light helped mariners recognize exactly where they were, avoid hidden dangers, and find safe passage home.

Maybe that's why they've always captured our hearts. Through thick fog, pounding rain, hurricane-force winds, and the darkest nights, they never sleep. Their beacon keeps turning.

Guiding.

Warning.

Illuminating the deep, dark waters below.

And even during the day, when the light isn't needed, we still find ourselves drawn to it. Its presence alone is reassuring. Perhaps that's because we instinctively recognize what it represents.

Storms are inevitable.

That's why the light stands where it does—faithfully keeping watch through the darkness. It guides, warns, protects, and reminds weary travelers that they're not alone.

There is One who never leaves His post.

Always present.

Always watching.

Always guiding...

always calling us safely home.
